As anticipated, Travis Hunter was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, landing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Heisman Trophy winner, known for his versatility and electric play, now begins the next chapter of his career—back home in Florida.

Hunter made a statement before even hitting the field, arriving at the draft seated next to Lil Wayne. The rap icon also happens to be Hunter’s agent, as the young star officially signed with Lil Wayne’s Young Money APAA Sports agency last December.

Joining him on the red carpet in Green Bay were his mother and fiancée, Leanna Lenee. In a sweet moment ahead of the big event, Lenee surprised Hunter with a Rolex watch. The couple, who got engaged recently, also revealed they’ll be tying the knot in May.

After being drafted, Hunter expressed both excitement and gratitude. “I’m just super excited. I get to go back home, but also somewhere I wanted to play, and I’m so excited that they picked me,” he said.

The Florida native hinted that he had an idea Jacksonville might be calling. “At what point did I think this could be possible? I’ll probably say last night—I was looking at some houses, so I kind of had a feeling,” he told reporters. “Then about a week ago, I was talking to my agent who mentioned it, and I was thinking this was a possibility. It’s been about a week—a good week.”

Looking ahead, Hunter is optimistic about his role with the Jaguars. “I just feel like I can help the organization out in many ways, and I hope that we turn it around.”
