Beyoncé is no stranger to selling out stadiums, with resale prices for her concerts often climbing into the thousands. So when she announced her Cowboy Carter tour, fans and industry insiders expected another sellout run. But according to recent reports, some dates — including opening night at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium on Monday (April 28) — are still struggling to move tickets.
TMZ reported that over 3,800 seats remained unsold just days before the show, with some resale prices dipping as low as $20 — a far cry from the typical frenzy surrounding a Beyoncé concert.
Never one to hold back, 50 Cent chimed in on social media, reposting the report and writing, “S** getting real out here. Hey, the tickets ain’t selling?”*
The rapper has a history of taking shots at Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Most notably, he previously claimed that Jay-Z didn’t want him performing at the Super Bowl alongside Eminem. In a past conversation with Cam’ron, 50 said, "This is why I was saying I knew what old boy was doing with the Super Bowl. Because he was doing some slick s***. He was doing some wild s***, Cam."*
He went on to explain, "He was saying to Eminem that the NFL had the issue with me. And I’m like, ‘Well, what’s the issue? Why don’t they have an issue when I’m becoming a partner with the actual teams? But they have an issue with my actual performance? It makes no sense.’”
While it's unclear whether the slow ticket sales are due to high expectations, economic factors, or something else, the conversation around Cowboy Carter is heating up — and 50 Cent seems more than happy to fan the flames.
