Kanye West didn’t hold back during a recent livestream, where he took aim at some of his closest collaborators — including Playboi Carti and longtime ally Pusha T — over what he sees as a lack of loyalty and public support.

Ye first addressed his issues with Playboi Carti, voicing frustration over being left off I AM MUSIC, Carti’s long-anticipated album that the two reportedly worked on for years.

“I love Carti, bro,” Ye said. “But you don’t take your position — and your album we’ve been working on for five years — to go against me. I ain’t no joke.”

The comment appears to reference Carti distancing himself from Ye creatively, and possibly politically, in recent months.

Kanye then turned his attention to Pusha T, another key figure in the G.O.O.D. Music family. In a more emotional tone, Ye seemed to express both betrayal and disappointment in the rapper he once called a brother.

“Pusha T, all that tough guy s***… where the tough guy s***? I bled for you. I asked for one thing: use your voice. Use your stability. People don’t think you’re crazy — people respect you. You stood on my shoulders to take Drake out.”

The comment alludes to Pusha T’s pivotal role in the 2018 Drake feud, widely believed to have been fueled in part by Kanye’s behind-the-scenes support. Ye appears to be suggesting that, in contrast, Pusha didn’t show the same loyalty when Ye was under fire — particularly during his highly publicized divorce from Kim Kardashian and his string of controversies that followed.

This isn’t the first time Kanye has expressed hurt over what he sees as abandonment. In an April 2024 interview with Justin LaBoy, he spoke about reconnecting with Pusha after months of silence.

“I just spoke with Pusha the other day. It was good to talk to him. It was the first time talking to him in a couple months. We made good music together.”

At the time, Ye also opened up about feeling let down by his peers during one of the darkest chapters of his life.

“I thought that somehow, because I made beats and made music for somebody — when I couldn’t see my children — these people would use their platform,” he explained. “’Cause I used my platform on their behalf. Now I realize no one owes me anything. If you depend on somebody who is not giving you what you need, you’re the one that’s in the wrong.”

While Ye’s comments may come across as combative, they also highlight a deeper sense of emotional vulnerability — a pattern fans have come to recognize throughout his career.

As of now, neither Playboi Carti nor Pusha T have responded publicly to the remarks.
