Die-hard Star Wars fans were heart broken when a Brooklyn bar was banned from screening a 13-hour marathon of their beloved sci-fi movie. George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Franchise, issued a cease-and-desist letter from Lucas' lawyers.
The lawyers explained screening the movies would violate copyright infringements and added that there was a moratorium on public "Star Wars" screenings.
200 fans were expected to gather at the bar last Sunday, but the legal documents quickly put organizers in a pinch, who stated they were bothered because they didn't have the chance to possibly "work something out."
No profits were made from the event, seeing as how it was seen as just a "gathering of fans."
Do you think Lucas should've shut down the marathon?
